Our Story

Mian inherited his interest in mushrooms from his mother who is an avid wild food forager. In 2017 he decided to have a go at growing mushrooms and quickly became obsessed with these wonderful beings. His hobby became more and more time consuming — a full devotion to mycelia — and Mian soon realised he wanted to dedicate his life to sharing the incredible ways that mushrooms can help improve our bodies, our minds and the environment.

Camila was in turn influenced by Mian’s love of fungi, learning about the many ways that they support all life on this planet, and have the capacity to solve the problems that our civilisation is now facing with the degradation of natural environments. Mushroom forages added a new depth to their experience of nature; they found that looking out for them stimulates a quality of presence and attention lacking in contemporary life. The myriad ways that fungi interact with other nature beings cannot help but influence the way that we relate to one another, fostering vital connection and collaboration on earth at this important time.

Camila has always had a keen interest in holistic health and nutrition. Traditional Western herbalism and Eastern systems such as TCM and ayurveda provided the map to navigate how the elements manifest in the body and in plant and fungi energetics and how organs and energy centres in the body are associated to emotions. Indigenous and shamanic traditions provided the framework for a magical understanding of how integrated with all that is we really are, how non-human and inanimate beings are imbued with spirit and respond to our feelings and intentions.

Her journey with self-healing deepened when she started foraging medicinal plants and exploring herbal preparations at home. Attuning to the cycles of nature and the constant change that rules the natural world was a life-changing teaching and observing plants in their own habitat allowed her to see them as beings full of agency and character. She discovered that in every healing phytochemical, there lies an aspect of the plant’s character that is willing to enter a dialogue with us if we open to it.

Previously colourless lists of plants’ actions took on new meanings and it became clear that beyond phytotherapic support, plants and mushrooms offer the opportunity to explore the nature of our dis-ease through tuning into our bodies, guiding us towards finding the resources to heal within. They shine light on our deepest wounds and the parts of us that were denied expression. They support us the journey of releasing what’s holding us back and contemplating all facets of our nature.

Through her unwavering devotion to this path, Camila learned that a deeply embodied relationship to plants and fungi has the potential to empower us to be the agents of true long-lasting change to our own health and wellbeing. They aren’t here to ‘fix’ us, nor are we broken; they’re allies that walk our paths with us, supporting us in finding liberation, wholeness and self-love, so we live the fullest expression of who we are.

Every potion Camila and Mian offer from their hands and hearts carries this deep reverence and wholesome potency.
